I bought "Push The Sky Away" last week and I've played it a few times. It reminds me a lot of Dylan's "Time Out of Mind." I think it's excellent. Hadn't realised just how funny Cave can be. Favourite tracks thus far are, 'Jubilee Street', 'Higgs Boson Blues', 'We No Who U R,' and, 'Push The Sky Away.' And in that order!

Yeah, I've enjoyed the little advertisement that has appeared on YouTube over the past few days. There's a good interview in the Guardian today, also. I am no expert on Cave by any stretch of the imagination, but I think his words can always be a bit hit and miss, but they're always interesting. I quite like the line you quote, actually. As for David: I simply love the track. I really do. I think it's up there with his best, and I'm not being flippant. It is a very beautiful and poignant track, and I've massive respect for the way he silently went about it all. He lets the music speak for itself, doesn't he? I'm excited for the album. The Next Day. Doesn't it just sound glorious?

Ah, I keep meaning to pop into your shop. You may see me walk by occasionally with my dog Kevin. I've not heard of the man that you mention, but I'll keep an eye out. I'm personally enjoying Veronica Falls at the moment. I'm not sure whether it's quite your bag, but they make kind of exquisite pop music. I do like them a lot. Have you heard the new Nick Cave song? I'm looking forward to playing their new album. The "sound" is very endearing, and of course the art work alone confirms its place in the realms of "high art" ! !

Hello Oli, How are you these days? Seems so long since we last spoke. I've been disappearing. Are you managing to keep your head above water? Are you still in Southport? Discovered any exciting music recently? Sometimes I think I could listen to Parasite by Nick Drake all day and every day.

Hey, sorry bothering you, but i'm a multi-instrumentalist musician (one man band) and I've been doing a few covers (including Every Breath You Take by The Police) could you please give it a try and tell me what you think? I really wanna improve and for that I need opinions. ^^ thanks a LOT! ^^ - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3KJ6dHFwMc

Hey, I'm so sorry I never got back to you after reading your dissertation! I really loved it, so well thought out and interesting :) things just got kinda hectic as I moved to the US in early September but last weekend I went on a pilgrimage to Asbury Park and was reminded of your work. So yeah, just wanted to say good job!

Thanks. It's a great song. Pretty remarkable how you can go from having that kind of song being huge, to what we have on the radio now. Damn kids need to get off my lawn, but seriously.

o.O I'm not even kidding, if I could do my dissertation on *anything* it would probably have taken some form similar to that. Sounds amazing. Any chance I could give it a read? (Need not fear plagiarism.. I'm a literature student and doubt I can stretch to such a vast study of American culture.. pity!) Simply unites three of my all time favourite things - Dylan, Springsteen and transcendentalism! Beautiful!

Oh wow, congrats on the dissertation! That topic is quite fascinating to me, would actually love to read something on that! As for the R.E.M. my favourite album is honestly Automatic for the People but if you want to hear something new I'd give Reckoning a go, their second album :)

Love your taste, and your avatar too. Saw it around and since you just can't ignore Big Man I thought I'd say hey!
