We miss you, you haven't been scrobbling for 10 days :-( Do you experience a difficulty with your scrobbler ? ... It is your 12th LASTFM ANNIVERSARY today :-) ... How quick time flashed by listening to your >24k played bands ... May the 'Music God' bless you with many such musical cake days, and many exquiste, musical discoveries ... What do you like best about lastfm at the moment ( and if you still remember, what did you like back when you joined a dozen years ago) ? ... P.S. I'll dedicate this music (e.g. available on deezer) to this birthday of yours: ... the term "oniki" in Turkish means: 12 :-) ... genre: experimental/minimalistic -> ... 'oniki' (with 100 beats per minute): ... https://www.last.fm/music/Erkan+Y%C4%B1lmaz/_/oniki -> this is the 12th track, from album ('piano edition (2nd album)' ... btw: here in Germany the authorities renewed the protections against Corona virus, one more time. And at your place ?

Nice, I hope you get to see them! They still turn it out, after all this time. I think I'm just a big music fan in general, though I certainly don't shy away from instrumental music! Nice redwoods in your pic. Looks like maybe Sequoia Nation Park?

Hey! Yeah, I'm still around. To me, Last.fm is like that old family cat with an eye missing and a dodgy leg. Old, quirky and a bit broken, but you still love it! Wishing you a happy new year too and another year of Scrobbling. Who's your favourite artist of 2018?

Hey James, sorry for my late reply! Aside from scrobbling, I'm not all that active on the site these days. I confess I did not keep up much with new music this past year, but I did listen to a lot of "old" music. Got pretty heavy into '60s soul compilations and box sets, including The Complete Stax-Volt Soul singles boxes.

Yeah, I also don't use the site as much as I used to. Most of my time here is spent uploading artwork and discovering new artists. I used to speak to one friend on here every day and we'd always share music but we haven't spoken in a while now. I try to keep up with new music and I create a weekly playlist of new stuff from artists I'm interested in and send it out to a few friends.

Hi there! If last.fm every recovers, or even looks like it might, give me a shout. I miss it, but it is a disaster. Spam scrobbles and everything. It has become one of the saddest corners of the internet for me. I left for many months and just checked back in but it is just as depressing as it used to be. But at the end of the oughts it was so brilliant. :(

Sup, can you please recommend me some reggae. Something that sounds like KJah west from San Andreas or Trojans, but not like Bob Marley. Can't explain better.

No problem. Here are a few of my go-to albums. Let me know if you like these and I can recommend more. The Congos - Heart of the Congos, Wailing Souls - Firehouse Rock, Culture - Two Sevens Clash, The Pioneers - Long Shot, The Maytals - From the Roots

Can tell you that Congos is direction I'm looking for, like deep instrumentals and interesting lyrics. Wailing Souls are too Marley for me. Others three I heard before, especially Pioneers, familiar sound of Trojans. So do you have something more like Congos to share?

garynotrashcoug
Hey sorry for my late response. If you liked that Congos album then try Max Romeo - War ina Babylon, Lee "Scratch" Perry - Arkology, The Upsetters - Return of Django and Return of the Super Ape. Really any of the Lee "Scratch" Perry produced stuff from the 70s would probably do.

I think there's more episodes of Grand Order planned? I hope so. Looking forward to Apocrypha. I'll probably wait until it's finished airing to start watching it. I'm always happy to hear more stuff is coming out. This is my favorite long-running franchise after Macross.

I think I feel similar. The Apokalypsis version is more developed and flows great with the rest of the album, but The Grime and the Glow version is just so raw and visceral.

Gary the No-Trash Cougar; it's a one-shot gag from Family Guy. https://youtu.be/j_xSVaAopEo I used it as an SN around the web a bit back in the day and Last.fm has a character limit on SNs so I had to get creative abbreviating.

Gary... it's been a while man. Too long a while :P Currently have GERD and am on medication, but other than that, fine in general. I used to hope that they'd bring the forums and groups back up. It's a fool's hope now. I also happen to check on the other err. templars? (See, I even forgot our group name already, but I do know that it WAS lengthy lol.) and most of them have abandoned this site as well. Doc still appears to be scrobbling though. Anything new there?

Interesting... Well, I guess we all suspected that at some point! The forums are definitely quieter. Also, I definitely needed to cut down on music. I had a system that made it possible to listen to music through most of the day using headphones, earphones, speakers on my phone, tablet and 2 PCs. All thanks to Spotify! It's absolutely exhausting, though, trying to make it all work and spending hours creating playlists. Not something I could keep up with long term. I still listen to music when I can, I think music makes everything better. But I take a more relaxed approach now.

Hey, I'm good! Just realising now that we haven't spoken in quite a while. I've never been very good with small talk, sorry! I noticed your absence from GetSat and I haven't been as active myself lately. It's been a while since the new site launched and there's not a whole lot left to say anymore. I still like to help out and answer questions and provide feedback when I can, though. I've been trying to cut down a bit on music, too. I went a little bit crazy last year. There's quite a lot of numbers on my Last.year page! As you mentioned, the "clique" have disappeared from the forums. It's my understanding that they were banned out of the blue - not only on GetSat but on Last.fm too, in some cases. I also wanted to thank you. I remember we had a chat about discovering new music and you really helped me get past a roadblock. Since then my library has exploded with all of these amazing artists and new genres I would never have listened to otherwise!

Heh ;) I used to have a friend here on Last.fm who complained that (back when they still had the Friends who listen to.... feature) "Everywhere I go, there you are. Often with less than 5 plays. Why do you have so many artists with 1-2 plays?" He was genuinely upset by it, which I thought was pretty hilarious. He eventually unfriended me.
