Not bad cheers. I'll be at Vol on that night too! Gotta say that I feel really let down by their new album. A few good tracks but generally very average. Reckon most of the songs will be good live though.

Hey, cheers, nice taste yourself! Good to see an eclectic mix! A few I've not heard of that I might look up out of interest there

Hey dude, realised I don't think I replied to your last message! I haven't been on here much lately but I've finally sorted out my iTunes so will be paying more attention from now on! Still going to Creepshow? What do you make of the new Volbeat album?

Yeah it has been a while I have been busy with work. Not a lot of break time which isn't a bad thing but I wish to catch my breath once in a while. You?

This will be the fourth time I've seen Gamma Ray, but only the second in the UK, (incedentally, that time was also with Helloween). Judging from the quality of the Skeletons and Majesties and current setlists I'm pretty psyched about some very old songs being back on the setlist. Hopefully Send Me a Sign, or Rebellion in Dreamland will be played acoustic. It's a shame they aren't headlining, though Helloween's most recent albums are both fantastic.

Yeah, I was at the Helloween/Stratovarius gig too. Although I had to leave a bit before the end so I missed the Dr Stein thing.

Yeah, personally I found the new Helloween to be kinda weak, but a few songs are somewhat enjoyable. The new Stratovarius blows it out of the water. Still very much looking forward to the London show though. It'll be my first time seeing Gamma Ray :D

Oh hey, a local! I live about 20 mins out from Norwich myself, in ol' Dereham Town. Can't go wrong with a bit of Iced Earth. Mr Shaffer is quite the riff-god :D Since our compatability thingy makes a point of mentioning Stratovarius and Helloween, any chance you've heard the new albums?

I did! A truly fantastic way to end the 2012 gig-going season I think. Especially Watching Over Me right at the end, and a brilliant set by Evergrey. I also felt the sunken ruin that is the Underworld really worked in the band's favour, who as a whole dominated such a tiny stage. Plus it meant I could get relatively close to the band. How'd you find yesterday night?

I never intend to look at setlists before gigs, but I often end up doing so anyway. I'd really like Ten Thousand Strong, Declaration Day or Stormrider on the set, with maybe a little less material off of Dystopia, but everyone will have a different opinion on the 'perfect set'. I was expecting it, but the venue change doesn't phase me. Such a cozy venue will be interesting for a band I always have seen as large capacity venue material. Pretty excited anyway.

Their Bloodstock set was pretty awesome! Watching Over Me was probably my favourite song from that set. Judging from setlists on the final leg, what they'll play on Thursday should be pleasantly different from earlier in the year. This will be my third time seeing IE, the first time being Bloodstock 2008. I think Stu is a worthy replacement for Barlow, and was brilliant in Into Eternity (Though I'm still unsure how I feel about Amanda Kiernan doing vocals for them at the moment!). I'm looking forward to the DVD next year, mostly fuelled by a good friend who was at said recording. He mentioned they did a second encore beyond what was scheduled which could be interesting to see, besides Cyriot metal crowds being a little insane. Bring on Thursday, plus Evergrey excitement!

Why hello there! Yes I do have awesome music taste :P. After a quick glance at your charts (and impressive list of seen bands; seriously impressed with drinking with 3 Inches of Blood), you clearly do too! Iced Earth are quite fantastic, and I was really impressed with Dystopia. I also notice you're going to their London show next week? If so, looking forward to it?

With you mentioning Total Rock radio last month got me thinking about when I used to listen to the Radio 1 'Friday Rock Show' back when the legend that is Tommy Vance was hosting it, I found out about quite a few bands that way. I think I may even have some cassette tapes lying around from the Donington Monsters of Rock shows that they used to do live.

Awesome taste. Heard the new SA album? I have only heard some samples and it will arrive next week in my mail but I think I will like this album more than the previous one. The new one is more straightforward.

A little bit of Praying Mantis to lighten the mood, if I remember right they were a really good but very underrated band like so many of them out there.
