Holy shit! I just noticed that the Spotify version of this album has few songs misnamed: for example "The Nameless Souls" is named "Die in Terror".

The first Residents album I ever listened to. Instantly fell in love with it. & with the Residents! Discovering them is such a joy, and I LOVE bands that have A LOT of albums. So much to dive into. I still have so much to listen (and re re re listen!) to and it makes me happy.

Genius concept, flawless execution. The Third Reich 'N Roll is my favorite (and one of my top 10-15 of all time), but this one's not far behind.

This album is phenomenal. Love the concept, love the music. Wish some songs were longer than a minute, but it's a blast to listen to.

Bought this at a good price after being recommended via Amazon. I was on a school trip to Paris in 1966 (age 13) and even now these songs seem to seep back from my 'long forgotten past'. They are superb. They evoke a time when life walked rather than run, and the song and melody lingered in your soul. Have a listen; and then buy. You won't be disappointed.

@LaxATivvz "Every track is 1:03-1:07... wtf!?" -- Pop songs are usually constructed in two separate parts, the chorus and the verse. Except that the chorus repeats multiple times during a pop song (and, also the verses, which usually consists of copy-pasted music but with different lyrics on top), so the thought here is that there is in effect only really about a minute worth of music in a pop song. Therefore, if one makes 1 minute songs, then one can fit over 30 pop songs in one album. And like the jabberwock pointed out before me (and you must beware the jabberwock my friend, the jaws that bite, the claws that catch and all that), it's humor.

If they weren't trying so hard to be weird, and instead to be good, they could do really well.

An absolute masterpiece, as often as that term is thrown around. The Residents achieve true beauty in most of the songs on this album, especially Easter Woman, Perfect Love, Red Rider, Moisture and Loneliness. They are the true essence of pop twisted into something most musicians can never achieve.
