I like the way that Sufjan describes finding hope in the wonder of the natural world, but it's tragic that such an incredible work had to come from such a source of pain for him

My favorite line in the song is "faith in reason", Sufjan gets that logic and emotion aren't opposites, but compliments, the quote attached to the genius lyrics "The love of God is the business of reason, not emotion." is an especially great one
