New Musik might just be the band with the biggest discrepancy between their talent, innovation, and quality of music versus their level of success and renown. I mean "criminally underrated" is, if anything, an understatement. They were ahead of their time. No one was doing what they were doing when they were doing it. No one. Bangers like "Churches" and "While You Wait" should have been thumping in every club worldwide. Their lack of success, and that they're not really even so much as a cult favorite today, is baffling to me. They should be mentioned with the likes of Gary Numan, OMD, Human League, etc. I'm just grateful to have finally stumbled across them.

This band is a real hidden gem. Why does nobody ever tell you that they existed? Why did I have to find out all by myself thanks to a lucky accident?

@Camaraderie: Both "This World of Water" and "This World of Walter" are existing songs by New Musik. The first "...Water" is the well-known hitsingle from the album "From A to B". The other, "...Walter" is a track from their second album "Anywhere". So, both songtags are correct.

First time hearing Warp--ultracool. Have the first album. By the way, they were Aussies not Brits.

Tony Mansfield is one of the most important figures of the pop music. With only 3 albums he created a perfect alchemy of acoustic and electronic.

It's a great shame they were never bigger. They deserved more. 'Anywhere' was a superb album!
