I remember buying their debut in 2000 from an online CD store in Europe. Their next two albums were terrific, shame the band wasn't able to continue writing in that style. Great memories of the early 00s listening to those.

That said, I love everything after Beyond the second most from them! No touching the first three albums, but I think the band has again been better than they were in between.

No prob, let's see how you like about them! Oh, and when I say "after Beyond", I meant to include Beyond as well. Possibly the fourth best FC album in my book!

I wanted to type "cheese metal" but someone beat me to it. I guess that might be saying something but I'm not sure. The first album's awesome either way, even the band themselves couldn't really beat it :E

Master of Light has blown my mind. I didn't think they had it in them anymore. One catchy album.

Yeah, they've now made two really good albums in a row for the first time in forever, in my opinion! That is, Beyond was one of their best works too, but so is Master of Light!

For those that don't know they have a new song "666 Weeks Beyond Eternity"... literally to celebrate 666 weeks passing since the Eternity album. They did kind of have a return to form on "Beyond" and that continues here.

They did awesome job yesterday in Warsaw. Because of Tony's (Sonata Arctica) illness they kinda became lead band and saved the show. I've had great fun and think that many other people too. "Happy metal" is definetely what describes them best.

Power Metal album of the year, so far, for me. Beyond has emotions in it, which is more than I can say for most of the "balsy" German Power Metal albums this year. Primal Fear, Stormwarrior, Sinbreed, Winterstorm, and Iron Savior's new albums are alright but don't have enough of the 90's PM spirit for my taste.

Yeh, Land of the Crimson Dawn and especially Legend of the Shadowking are better than Dimensions. Maybe even better than The Circle of Life, although I have listened to that less than any of those other three. Shadowking is one of their best; I don't get why people often don't like it. It presents a darker side of Freedom Call as well with songs like Under the Spell of the Moon, Dark Obsession and The Darkness, and their fast songs are almost as good as ever, and Bay is at his most versatile on the vocals... never knew what's so bad on the album. Beyond though - WOW! I would have NEVER thought these guys would still release an album like that! No weak tracks (not even Dance Off the Devil), and the very best tracks like Knights of Taragon, Beyond, or, heck, even the overly-happy Come on Home are freaking EPIC! Some of the best power metal in years - definitely happiest since Eternity! And it doesn't feel forced one bit! I'm sold! :)

New album is a real return to form. In my opinion their 4th best (with Eternity, Crystal Empire and Stairway to Fairyland being 1-3). This album is from start to finish as strong as the best moments from Circle of Life, Dimensions and Legend of the Shadowking. Land of the Crimson Dawn was still enjoyable but to me it felt like another band trying to be Freedom Call and not quite getting it... odd but that's the impression I got! Anyway, great albums in quick succession from Freedom Call and Iron Savior have made me very happy lately!

I've noticied quite a lot of negativity recently regarding Legend of the Shadowking & Land of the Crimson Dawn... I enjoyed both of those albums a lot. The only FC album which has ever really disappointed me was Dimensions, which was by and large horrific. The last 3 albums have, imo, been a steady climb back to their best and Beyond is as close as they've been to their peak since Eternity.

Jokes aside, yeah the new album kicks ass. I like literally every song and Dance Off The Devil is awesome too, haters can leave the hall. I'm not sure where I'd rank it, but it would be probably between Crystal Empire and Eternity, aka best FC albums!

@Jason_Kountou, how about Flame to the Brave, Hymn in the Night, Ages of the Quest for the Thunder Gods, We Are the Rockstar Alliance, and Farewell to Fairyland? :D @TurboKuba, I think it's leaked and can be downloaded... I'll likely be buying the album though! ^_^

Many tracks appear to be inspired by the earlier style heard in Eternity. Such a heavy, fast, and powerful album that will be one of the best metal releases of 2014.

Let me just list here some words of the new album's song titles that have been previously used by FC..."union" "knights" "Taragon" "heart" "warrior(s)" "ocean" "rhythm" "light" "freedom" "eternity", hope I didn't forget anything. What's next, Island of Starchild Dreams and Palace of Innocent Power? lol
