Our first gig planned for the new year brings brilliant underground death metallers Diamanthian back to Birmingham alongside Sarpanitum, who return to the live circuit with their unique brand of ancient death metal.
"Brutal Morbid Darkness" Diamanthian, in the 2004 Terrorizer magazine readers poll, was voted 'best unsigned band' and came 9th in the 'best live band category' (While being the only unsigned band in this category). Underground legends!
BURIAL bring their brand of Blackened death/brutal black metal to this gig! Striving for excellence, they constantly pushing themselves in the pursuit of bleak, ferocious and ambient music. The band received an excellent demo review from Zero Tolerance magazine who stated that Burial are “…high quality, both in writing and performance” and are “fast and heavy without sacrificing loss of atmosphere”. Burial were voted ninth best unsigned band by Terrorizer magazine readers.
Brutal, blackend atmosphereic Death Metal, Sarpanitum are well known in the Birmingham, and wider, underground! Their achievements as an unsigned, young band were nothing short of glorious and led them to sign with Galactic Records. They earned a slot at the annual Neurotic Records Deathfest in 2006 in Eindhoven, Holland, a high-profile event for the world's most prestigious death-metal warlords.Following brutal military subjugation, Kerrang! Magazine declared Sarpanitum "The new kings of the British Metal Underground,"and clearly submitted to extortionate tribute with their astounding KKKK live review. Masterful. Archaic. Decadent.
THEOKTONY, signed with FETO records, will be bringing their own brand of dark, convoluted, extreme metal to this gig, meaning it's shaping up to be an awesome night of extreme metal!
MAW join us again in Birmingham! Previously named Blood Mass they're a ‘dark’ Death Metal band from London/Leamington Spa and feature members from Carpathia, Prometheus, Gout, Parole and Absinthropy. A brilliant band who blew us away at death by metal, we think these guys are going to be a strong force in underground extreme metal and they fit this bill perfectly (in my opinion)!
